Niles is simply the best. We have been taking our Audi to him for quite some time. Always fair and honest. We would never think about taking our car anywhere but Portland Motor Works.

I just recently purchased my BMW , and along with that the previous owners handed me a card with Niles' information on it. I was worried about changing to a different mechanic from one that I have been going to for years to the previous owners choice mechanic. Absolutely ZERO regrets!! Niles explained what had happened to my car and what would need fixing. Thier prices are extremely fair, they dont try and convince you to fix a 500 dollar part that does not even need replacing. You can tell they are not a liars or cheaters. I can not rave enough about how amazing Niles and his crew are! I highly recommend Portland Motor Works inc, they have just gained a lifer here for sure

Stopped by on my way home the other day to have a code read. Gave me a detailed print out and had the issue fixed in five minutes. Got me in and out in a very short time frame with no appoint and at the end of the day. Will be back to have transmission serviced.

Our first experience with this shop was at the recommendation of a long-time friend who is an independent dealer in Portland specializing in used high-quality European imports. When we asked him for a recommendation to get a second opinion of a rather extensive, (read that, expensive), list of repairs on our 16-year-old "classic" 530i BMW "baby" which were suggested by a local BMW dealer, our friend sent us to Niles at Portland Motor Works. Are we grateful that he did..... In discussing on the phone several of the items being suggested for replacement, (Radiator, Aux Fan Assembly, Valve Cover Gasket, Oil Level Sensor, etc., etc.), Niles commented that he was confident that his shop could do the work at less cost, and with better care than we might expect from the dealer. We are happy to report that he exceeded his expectations on both counts. We had our car towed to him on Tuesday morning to confirm the list of needed work. He had a detailed, written estimate to us by Wednesday morning. We gave him the authorization to do the repairs/replacements later that morning, and PICKED UP our completed car on THURSDAY afternoon! Needless to say, We are very happy with the significant savings that Niles delivered over the dealer's quote, but even more so are pleased to find someone that is honest, and delivers what he promises. This fact is borne out by the case that the dealer had suggested a replacement of a leaking line set whereas Niles looked at the same lines and let us know that they would take care of that 'minor leak' by simply removing the lines, cleaning, and replacing the clamps at no charge while they were doing the other work, thereby eliminating an BIG line item from the BMW quote for new lines! Would we use Niles and Portland Motor Works again, and recommend them to others? YOU BET! BTW; The car is running like new again, and we hope to keep it another 16 years!

Honest, knowledgeable, fair, hard-working and approachable. 4 traits you almost never find in an Automotive Repair. Niles has them all. Going anywhere else is not necessary.

Great Service, nice people, real prices

NIles offered to take a look at my 1991 BMW following a laundry list of very expensive repairs made by another auto shop. The repairs were estimated at $2500, perhaps about what I could sell my car for. While all issues are valid, none were of urgent concern and could be mediated perhaps indefinitely largely through monitoring fluid levels. I am greatly appreciative of Niles taking the time to walk me through the issues and honestly prioritizing them for me. I will be back!

This shop is run and managed by Niles. He is an amazing guy, and really knows about BMW and Benz. We have had our car for repairs and regular services, and their prices is really fair, but most importantly, they know what they are doing. You can rest assure that you will be treated well and fair, and your car will have a bumper to bumper inspection and treatment. Highest recommendation.

The owner and mechanic were both amazing and Knowledgeable. and offered the very best i could expect in customer service. It was more than customer service really. They were very friendly and explained every detail and never rushed me although i could see they were busy. As an older woman i recommend them to other women who may sometimes feel less respected by auto shops. Best Merc service ever
